A. L. Johnson & Sons Roofing in Fitzwilliam, NH first opened in 1965 when the founder Arthur Johnson decided to venture out on his own. Before that Arthur had been employed as a roofer at Melanson’s Roofing since he was old enough to work. During that time, the company consisted of only a two or three-man team, which was based in Marlborough, NH.

The company remained in Marlborough for two years before being moved to Swanzey, NH and then to our newest location in Fitzwilliam in 1970. Over time, Victor Johnson, Arthur’s son, also entered the business as he became old enough to work. He continued as an employee until the year 1988 when he started the management of A. L. Johnson & Sons Roofing with Arthur growing older and getting close to retirement.

In 1989 founder Arthur Johnson passed away, and management of the business was then handed over to his son Victor. Following Arthur’s death, Victor continued running A. L. Johnson & Sons in the same tradition of high-quality and high standards customers have always expected. During that time and until Victor’s death in 2011, A. L. Johnson & Sons Roofing had serviced a large volume of highly satisfied clients and continued solidifying an earned reputation as the best roofing company you could rely on and trust.

After the death of Victor management of the company was then turned over to Barry Johnson, Arthur’s youngest son. Since that time, Barry and has continued to lead A. L. Johnson into the future, always exceeding our customer’s highest expectations with the same pride and integrity as his father and brother before him. Asked about the future of A. L. Johnson & Sons Roofing, Barry shares that he wishes to continue in the tradition of always including family into the business and staying small so he can preserve the quality of work provided.

Barry will always consider things of priority to be cleanliness at the job site, politeness by all his employees, and providing clients with a high-quality end result that is also aesthetically beautiful. Owner Barry says, "We always stand behind our work and consider a handshake as important as a contract. We will always be there for our customers and offer a 15-year warranty on all commercial flat roofs."
